You may be interested to know that the Royal parks have now produced a leaflet of general park rules of dog do's and don'ts that affect us all.
In summary for dog owners walking in Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park this now means:
- certain areas are off limits for dogs: the Round Pond, the Long Water, the Peter Pan statue (KG) the Memorial fountain, the Lido, the Serpentine, the Bowling Green and Tennis centre (HP) as well as all cafes and playgrounds
- and in certain areas dogs have to be kept on leads: the edge of Round pond, Long Water, Italian fountains, South & North flower walks (KG) and edge of Serpentine (HP) and by all roads and water
- owners are to clear up all dog waste
- all dogs should be kept in sight and under control at all times
- no one should walk more than four dogs at a time
- any dog whose obedience cannot be guaranteed should be kept on a lead
